This Coffee's Story

The Cocatrel Cooperative, founded in 1961 in Tres Pontas, is Brazil's second-largest cooperative, with over 6,000 members and 11 regional buying points. It ensures full traceability through electronic tagging and QR codes for all coffees. Over 50% of members farm on land smaller than 10 hectares.

The Caixa De Fruta, sourced primarily from Carmo De Cachoeira, is crafted for its red fruit and creamy milk chocolate profile.

The coffee is dried in static boxes—1m deep, vented containers holding 15,000 liters of cherry (25-30 green coffee bags). Temperature is monitored to stay below 40°C, and the coffee isn’t turned during drying. After drying, it rests for 1-2 weeks before milling. This method enhances fruity, prominent flavors, distinguishing it from traditional Brazilian naturals.
