This Coffee's Story

Bwenda 159 – A Story of Quality & Community

Nestled in Rwanda’s Nyamagabe District, Bwenda 159 is the result of Bernard Uwitije’s passion for high-quality coffee and farmer empowerment. Growing up in a coffee-rich region, Bernard started as a coffee trader before realising the potential of fully washed processing. In 2016, he built his first wet mill, refining his skills before expanding to multiple washing stations.

Bwenda, established in 2018, was born out of a need to serve isolated farmers with better processing access. Since its first harvest in 2019, it has grown in capacity, with Bernard investing in farmer support programs and sustainable coffee production, ensuring each cup reflects the dedication and craftsmanship behind it.
